Beware the long film. Cameron Platter's Beware the Curves at the Labia

Thursday, October 05, 2006

I went by the Bell-Roberts yesterday to catch up on Cameron's show there, Three Missed Calls, which I had missed on the opening. I really liked it. But it reminded me that I hadn't said anything about Beware the Curves. I might have blocked the painful memories out... After downing eight free Cobra beers (it's less gassy), sitting through an hour long screening was painful to say the least. I snuck out to relieve the pressure but by the time I got back I hadn't missed any huge plot twists, I think the zebras were still killing the penguin. Most of the animation was awesome, but after a while the repetitiveness, which at first was charming, became dull. It's like watching the directors cut of Apocalypse Now, interesting if it was shorter.

I agree with Mr sloon. It could have been much better if it was shorter. Actually maybe not. It wouldn't have been better anyway. It was shit. I mean, who does cameron think he is?
