Deus Ex Machina

I got an email tip-off from an adamantly anonymous source, a bit late unfortunately. Apparently Matt Hindley spectacular work at the National Gallery Speak Naturally and Continuously was displaying the words : "phonebooth Rosenclair poes "continously throughout the day yesterday. Since Rosenclair's piece (the other outdoor almost-interactive piece on display) always works, I wonder if the machine was experiencing envy? Or if it's the bitter sentiment of an angry, possiby drunk artist? It seems an improvement on what it normally says: "zzzzzzzzzzzzz."

I once observed a large group of schoolchildren gazing up at 'Speak Naturally and Continuously ' , which was at that juncture being utilised by the National Gallery as a sort of advertising hoarding promoting upcoming shows. The educator was explaining the work in detail as if the text was somehow magically operating 'naturally'. I took advantage of the moment to step up on the rosenclair and wondered if it was worth gesticulating at the camera. Apart from the scholars the place looked deserted so I saved the gesture and left, wondering if David Lewis had ever been up on this podium.
Robert you are a great writer. I've been thinking about this all day.
Now that's what I call a puff!
Is it a puff if it's true? No.
