Artwork of the Week
Monday, May 07, 2007

Ok, this is a little indulgent. But I stumbled onto this site zoominfo.com which collects names and links for business people, and who did I find there if not Robert Sloon. When your pseudonym starts taking on a life of its own, I think you're definitely allowed to make that Artwork of the Week.
What was that? You're not happy with this crappy Artwork of the Week? Ok, ok, here's another.

In the new edition of Artthrob
somebody got their HTML a little confused. Gavin Younge's international listing has the copy for his prodigal son Ed Young, while Ed Young's has the copy for his cosmic twin Berni Searle. Editing accidents can happen to anyone, but this is funnier than most, and definitely gets status as Artwork of the Week, especially when one of the shows is called "The Art of Failure."

Apart from ~Sue Willaiamson's puffy smaak smak crit,
this issue of artthrob was really threadbare, not much to say & not much said. And this after such a busy month of art. Perhaps a name change is in order? How about 'Failure to Throb'.
Dear Poo’s: Our loves,
Sister Bench not troubled by much (bless her heart given her terminal condition and morphine dependency as duty called, given her excitement and all with Artthrobs monthly update staggered to her keyboard and (she acquired a new black Macbook, praise be to the Vatican’s munificence) — perhaps keyboards the wrong term — but permit our clumsy description that Father Geronimo so wickedly called vaginal fervour — fervishley fingered in www.artthrob.co.za for her monthly (no pun intended) update. Having been a long time fan of Mr. Nauman and to a lesser degree Mr. Atlas: she alas to her horror found no mention of their forthcoming exhibition at St. Michaelis tomorrow on Sister Williams site. What dear Lord should we make of that … pray?
Yours in all humility,
Sister Ghandi.
People talk kak
why does sue will go on about the lack of and need for a Cape/ x-cape catalogue when her own web site lumps all possible reviews of all and every bit of Cape/ X-Cape into one rather opaque review?? i just don't get that obvious contradiction: surely far more international people will read artthrob to find out about Cape/X-Cape than are currently running to the post box everyday to check if their Cape catalogue has arrived, along with their michael stevenson monthly, of course? as a participating artist I feel let down: am I just being gluttonous?
